Hofstade
Pay what you can
What do we do when we don't like our fate? Are dreams ours, or are they just old clichés that we inherit? What do our fictional choices say about us?
Babette, Vasco, Ayoub, Haby, Abigael, Paloma and Viggo are between 14 and 20 years old. Like most teenagers, they are looking for independence and freedom.
They seek it in fiction, which brings them to the Hofstade estate on the outskirts of Brussels, known for its pleasant artificial beach. On the narrow sandy beach by the lake, the seven future adults imagine the ocean and sketch the contours of a utopian world. Their goal is to answer one question: can you choose your own destiny?
‘In the wonderful Hofstade, we go on an adventure with a group of sailors driven by a gentle rebellion. Funny, explosive, irresistible!’ — Catherine Makereel, Le Soir
