An artistic proposal where practice and performance come together, Basically is a piece in perpetual motion, which is created and recreated over the course of five hours. Conceived by Nikima Jagudajev, an Austro-Uzbek artist and choreographer based in Brussels, the performance is a choreographic game for several performers that follows interactive and playful rules.
In this space, many things happen: eating, sharing conversations, making clothes, creating music, having fun... An experience that is at once disorderly, uncontrollable and spontaneous, a new way of connecting with art, not as something separate from us, but as an inclusive practice that encourages unexpected encounters.
• Nikima Jagudajev (1990) is een in de VS geboren, Oostenrijks-Oezbeekse kunstenaar en choreograaf, gevestigd in Brussel. Hun performances zijn een vorm van collaboratieve worldbuilding, georganiseerd door complexe sets van open regels. Hun mythopoëtische werelden – bestaande uit elementen als livemuziek, eten, rondhangen en formele dansfrases – bieden een context voor onverwachte ontmoetingen, ontmoetingen die op vreemde en onvoorspelbare manieren een gedeelde ruimte creëren en hervormen. Het werk van Jagudajev is internationaal gepresenteerd in MoMA PS1, mumok, Westfälischer Kunstverein, The Whitney Museum, Bergen Kunsthall en WIELS, en is opgenomen in de collectie van mumok - Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien.
